On 23 September 2025, as part of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module grant project «Fostering a sustainable interest in EU tax culture through educational, scientific and communication awareness-raising activities targeting Ukrainian society» (Grant Agreement No. 101125984 – TIEU), a guest lecture was given at the State University «Kyiv Aviation Institute» by Tetyana Tuchak, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Tax Administration at the State Tax University, on the topic «European approaches to tax policy: harmonisation and challenges».
The target audience was students of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education in the specialities D2 «Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market» and D1 «Accounting and Taxation» within the framework of teaching the discipline «Tax System».
The lecture was open to the public and took place in the format of inter-university cooperation with the participation of teachers and students from the European University, the National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Auditing, and Kherson National Technical University.
The lecture covered the following topics:
- The European Union: core values, financing system and management institutions.
- Harmonisation of indirect taxes in EU member states.
- Features of direct taxation in European Union countries.
- Tax culture as a component of EU fiscal efficiency.
The lecture was an excellent opportunity to discuss topical issues and obtain practical case studies on the European experience of tax harmonisation.
Such events provide an opportunity to deepen one's knowledge of topical issues of coordination and harmonisation of tax policies of EU member states and to understand the impact of these processes on the development of the domestic tax system.
We look forward to further cooperation!
