The Educational and Scientific Institute of Law of the State Tax University invites law students to participate in the international initiative Ukraine–Scotland Legal Conversation Café.
UKR–SCO Legal Language Café is an informal and friendly space for communication between law students from Ukraine and Scotland. The initiative is organized by students of the University of Glasgow (Scotland) with the assistance of Larisa Zhdankina, lecturer and researcher at the University of Glasgow, and is aimed at supporting open dialogue, mutual learning and practice of legal English in a comfortable atmosphere.
The initiative is offered on an ongoing basis - meetings will be held every Wednesday.
The first meeting will be held on January 28 at 19:00 Kyiv time
Format: online, on the Zoom platform at the link
Participation is completely voluntary and flexible.
The first meeting will be dedicated to discussing ways to access the legal profession in Scotland, Ukraine and common law jurisdictions. Students can actively participate in the discussions or be listeners - depending on their own level of comfort and language training.
Legal Conversation Café creates a safe environment without academic pressure, in which participants can:
- develop legal communication skills in English;
- compare legal systems of different countries;
- establish international academic and professional connections.
We invite students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law to join the international legal dialogue and become participants of the Ukraine–Scotland Legal Conversation Café.
