The main purpose of the activity, development and improvement of the Safety, Labour Protection and Civil Protection Department at the State Tax University is to:

• organisation of security and civil protection measures at the State Tax University (hereinafter referred to as "STU"), control over their implementation in the structural units of the STU, in order to ensure the proper functioning of the STU in peacetime and in a special period;
• development and implementation of measures aimed at preventing the occurrence of emergency situations (hereinafter referred to as "emergencies");
• drafting orders and instructions on security and civil protection in the SPS;
• creating a reliable system of notification and warning of emergencies that may occur on the territory of the property complex of the State Tax Administration;
• protection of persons working and studying at the State Penitentiary Institution from exposure to radioactive, poisonous, potent substances, bacterial agents or objects that may pose a threat to health and life;
• training of governing and coordinating bodies, working staff, and higher education students to act in the event of a disaster.

The main tasks of civil protection in the STU are:

• control and organisation of measures to ensure the protection of the DPU's facilities from theft, embezzlement and other criminal attacks;
• organisation of civil protection measures in the STU;
• reducing man-made, natural and social risks and improving the protection of the academic staff, employees and students of the STU by ensuring the effective functioning of civil protection, taking into account the consequences of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation;
• ensuring the readiness of the management and coordination units in the field of civil protection to protect the academic staff, employees, and students of the STU from man-made, natural, social, and military disasters;
• prevention of emergencies and ensuring strict compliance with the requirements of the current legislation in the field of civil protection and technogenic and environmental safety (hereinafter - TES), quarantine measures on the territory of the STU;
• facilitating timely and full funding for civil protection activities within the budgetary allocations provided for in the respective estimates for the said purposes for the budget year.
