The training of scientific personnel in postgraduate and doctoral studies is considered a strategic task and is one of the main sources of constant replenishment and renewal of the intellectual potential of the state and its scientific elite in general.

The Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Department operates at the State Tax University in order to organize and manage the processes of training of higher education students for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science at the university level.

In its work, this structural unit is guided by the system of organizational, educational and scientific support for the preparation of candidates for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education and Doctor of Science, directly subordinated to the Vice-Rector for Research, accountable and controlled by the Rector of the University.

Over the years, the university has trained many economists and lawyers. The Department of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies was founded in 1996.

The Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Department implements the task of creating conditions for continuous education, improving the scientific, pedagogical and scientific qualifications of citizens.

The profile of postgraduate and doctoral students corresponds to the priority areas of scientific activity of the university and actually covers all areas in which the university trains specialists at the appropriate educational and qualification levels.

The University trains postgraduate students for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the following specialties:

051 - Economics;

071 - Accounting and taxation;

072 - Finance, banking, insurance and stock market;

081 - Law;

281 - Public management and administration;

293 - International Law.

Postgraduate and doctoral training is carried out:

• at the expense of state budget expenditures;
• at the expense of legal entities and/or individuals.

The Department of Postgraduate Studies and Doctoral Studies of the State Tax University organizes, plans and supports educational and scientific programs for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science.

For successful work on scientific research for postgraduate and doctoral students, the university has all the necessary conditions, including modern material and technical facilities, highly qualified scientific and pedagogical and scientific personnel, and its own publishing base.
