On April 9, 2026, a guest lecture titled “Taxation and Tax Culture in EU Countries: Lessons for Ukraine” was successfully delivered for students and academic staff of the University of Customs and Finance (Dnipro, Ukraine).

The event was organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module
“Fostering Sustainable Interest in EU Tax Culture through Educational, Scientific and Communication Activities for Ukrainian Society” (Project No. 101125984 – TIEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH).

 The lecture was delivered by Iryna Prokopenko, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, and Project Coordinator.

 Impact and Key Outcomes:

  • Increased awareness of EU taxation systems and best practices
  • Strengthened understanding of tax culture as a key element of public governance
  • Promoted the importance of trust-based relationships between taxpayers and tax authorities
  • Highlighted the role of tax consulting in enhancing voluntary tax compliance
  • Contributed to the development of tax literacy among Ukrainian students

 The event gathered 40 participants, including students and academic staff, demonstrating strong engagement and interest in EU tax practices.

 Participants emphasized the practical relevance of the knowledge gained and its importance for fostering a modern tax culture in Ukraine aligned with European standards.
