On April 29, 2026, a guest lecture on the topic «European Approaches to Tax Policy: Harmonization and Challenges» was held for students and academic staff of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Cherkasy State Technological University. 

The lecture was conducted as part of the European Union project Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module: «Formation of a stable interest in the EU tax culture through educational, scientific, and communication activities» (№ 101125984 – TIEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH). 

The event took place in a blended format for students of the following educational programs: «International Economics and Business», «Finance», «Business Economics» and several technical specialties. Lesia Petkova, Doctor of Economics, Professor, and Head of the Department of International Economics and Business, served as the event coordinator. 

The guest lecture was delivered by a project team member — Tetiana Tuchak, PhD in Economics and Associate Professor of the Department of Tax Administration at the State Tax University. 

The lecture covered the following key areas: alignment of the tax systems of EU member states to ensure the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor; mechanisms of the common VAT system's functioning; attempts to introduce a Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base; the role of tax policy in the implementation of the «Green Deal». At the conclusion of the lecture, special attention was paid to the foundation of the sustainable development of the European economy — tax culture.

Following the lecture, participants noted its high scientific and practical level and relevance. They highlighted its significant contribution to raising students' awareness regarding EU tax policy formation, European integration challenges for Ukraine, and factors fostering a high level of tax culture.
