The State Tax University was visited by Alexandru Victor Micula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine, and Mihai Dinu, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Romania in Ukraine.
From the university, Vasyl Lutsyk, Vice-Rector for scientific work, Natalia Zykun, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Humanitarian Technologies, Sports and Rehabilitation, and Fedir Bilotskyi, Head of the International Relations Department, took part in the working meeting.
During the visit, the diplomats inspected the university's educational infrastructure and familiarized themselves with the campus. The guests were also shown the premises that were damaged in the first months of the full-scale war, and architectural projects for the reconstruction of the main university building were presented.
One of the key topics of the meeting was further international academic cooperation. The parties discussed opportunities for developing partnerships with Romanian universities, participation in joint educational and scientific initiatives of the European Union, including Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe programs, as well as expanding academic exchanges and scientific contacts.
Vice-Rector for scientific work Vasyl Lutsyk thanked Romania for its support of Ukraine and emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between the academic communities of the two states. "We are sincerely grateful to Romania for supporting Ukraine both at the government level and from society. Many Ukrainians have found refuge in your country, and we receive extremely positive feedback on how warmly they are welcomed. This is a true manifestation of partnership and solidarity between our countries," he noted.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in the field of rehabilitation for veterans and civilians affected by the war. University representatives spoke about the initiative to create a rehabilitation center based on the university's infrastructure near the Ukrainian-Romanian border. It is envisioned that the center will combine the training of specialists in physical and psychological rehabilitation, practical assistance to veterans, and the development of international projects in this area.
The Romanian diplomat also expressed interest in expanding academic contacts between universities of the two countries and supporting new formats of cooperation that will contribute to the integration of Ukrainian education into the European academic space.
The parties regarded the visit as the beginning of partnership work between the university and Romanian institutions and agreed to continue working on joint educational, scientific, and socially important initiatives.
