Every year on May 23, Ukraine celebrates Heroes' Day.
Twenty years ago, back in 2006, it all started as a small student initiative in Chernivtsi. The initiator was Lesia Voroniuk, a student at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, who suggested that her classmates and professors choose one day to wear vyshyvankas together.

On May 19, 2026, our library became a venue for a meaningful and inspiring meeting with writer and scholar Heorhiy Filipchuk – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Full Member of the National Academy of Educational Sciences (NAES) of Ukraine, Honorary Doctor of the Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the NAES of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Prosvita Society named after Taras Shevchenko, and Chairman of the Congress of Ukrainian Intelligentsia.
On May 15, 2026, a scientific and practical seminar titled «Digital Transformation of Libraries as a Convenient Format of Communication with the Modern User» was held at the State Tax University to commemorate Science Day.
On May 14, the Scientific Library of the State Tax University hosted a presentation of the book by Serhiy Martynyuk, «Callsign 'Writer', or How the People of Irpin Repelled the Ruscists».
