General information
The history of the department dates back to 1995. At that time, the basis of the Faculty of Law was the Department of Law. As a result of the reorganization of the educational institution, several departments were formed, in particular, the Department of Theory and History of State and Law began its activities on September 1, 1997.
During its existence, the department was headed by: Hryhoriy Mykhailovych Samilyk, Candidate in Law Science, Associate Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine; Andriy Leonardovich Beikun, Candidate in Law Science, Associate Professor; Leonid Prokhorovich Samofalov, Candidate in Law Science; Olena Anatoliivna Kalganova, Candidate in Law Science, Associate Professor, Anatoliy Yevgeniyovich Shevchenko, Candidate in Law Science, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine.
Since December 2, 2024, the department has been headed by Bak Vira Igorivna, Candidate in Law Science, Associate Professor, specialist in the field of constitutional law, comparative law and international human rights protection, author of numerous scientific works, active participant in scientific conferences and international research. Vira Igorivna is a member of the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine and head of the internship of the Kyiv Bar Council.
