The State Tax University (STU) has taken a significant step in confirming its scientific status by successfully passing the extraordinary state attestation of scientific institutions and higher education establishments of Ukraine. Participating for the first time in the assessment within the «Social Sciences» category, our university joined a prestigious group of institutions classified as Category «C» based on their total score.
The university fell short of the higher Category «B» by only 2 points, which is an exceptionally high result for the first experience of attestation at this level. This success was the result of the coordinated efforts of the entire academic community, where the Scientific Library of the STU played a role as a key information and analytical hub.
The Library's Contribution to Achieving High Results
The state attestation was carried out according to a number of rigorous criteria, most of which are directly related to the efficiency of library services:
- Scientific Publications and Citations: the library provides systematic support to researchers in working with international scientometric databases such as Scopus and Web of Science.
- Development of «Open Science»: through the support of the university repository, the Scientific Library ensures the accessibility and visibility of STU’s scientific achievements in the global digital space.
- Information Support for Research: providing access to leading electronic resources and professional selection of sources allowed our researchers to conduct studies at a contemporary level.
STU Publication Map: A Tool for Strategic Monitoring
A vital element in preparing for the attestation was our service – the «STU Publication Map». This is an interactive tool that ensures the transparency and relevance of the university's scientific data.
The Publication Map facilitates:
- Operational Monitoring: real-time tracking of researchers' profiles in Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, ORCID, and others.
- Dynamics Analysis: accounting for the number of publications and h-indices, allowing for the evaluation of the scientific impact of each faculty and department.
- Unified Register: systematization of links to specific articles and scientometric achievements, which significantly simplified the reporting process for state attestation.
This tool made it possible to clearly demonstrate the large-scale and systematic work of the university's scientific community during the evaluation.
Teamwork and New Horizons
Passing the attestation is an exam of coordination. The staff of the Scientific Library expresses its sincere gratitude to the academic staff and administration for their constructive cooperation.
«We continue to develop the Publication Map and other digital services to confidently cross the threshold of Category 'B' during the next attestation», states the Scientific Library.
Congratulations to the university family on this achievement!
Together towards new scientific heights! Your Scientific Library of the STU
