On April 9, 2026, the State Tax University welcomed the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine, Park Ki-chang. The delegation also included Park Kwan-ik, Senior Assistant for Economy and Development Cooperation of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine, and John Jung-yun, Director of the Korean Education Center.
During the meeting, the State Tax University was represented by Acting Rector Dmytro Serebrianskyi, Vice-Rector for Research Vasyl Lutsyk, and the Head of the International Relations Department Fedir Bilotskyi.

As part of the visit, a working meeting was held with the university leadership. The parties discussed prospects for developing academic cooperation between the State Tax University and educational institutions of the Republic of Korea. The discussions focused on the implementation of joint educational programs, academic mobility for students and faculty, and the expansion of scientific partnerships.

Furthermore, the distinguished guests toured the university campus. The head of STU, Dmytro Serebrianskyi, personally guided the delegation through the university grounds, showing the building destroyed by hostilities and presenting restoration concepts developed within the framework of an architectural competition.

The Reading Room for Educational Literature of the Scientific Library served as a platform for an open dialogue with university students. Students raised questions regarding academic mobility and exchange opportunities. The Ambassador noted that the Republic of Korea is developing scholarship programs for Ukrainian students and supports the establishment of direct partnerships between universities.
During his lecture, the diplomat shared Korea's experience in economic development, emphasizing that the country's success resulted from systemic reforms, strategic vision, and consistent state policy. At the same time, he stressed that trust – between citizens, the state, and business – is the fundamental basis for effective transformation.
In conclusion, Park Ki-chang emphasized that despite the geographical distance, Ukraine and the Republic of Korea share common values and significant potential for partnership, with youth playing a key role in this process.
The visit of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine marked an important step in strengthening the university's international ties and opened new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education and science.
