Starting in 2024, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine initiated a new service to support Ukrainian publishers and motivate young people to read.
Ukrainians who turned 18 in 2024 or will turn 18 in subsequent years are eligible to receive 908 UAH for purchasing books.
Who can participate?
Citizens of Ukraine who reached the age of 18 after January 1, 2024. You must also have a valid passport (ID card or international passport) and a Tax Identification Number (RNOKPP) available in the Diia app.
How to receive the funds:
- Open the Diia app.
- With just a few clicks, your special account will be ready.
- Wait for the funds to be credited.
- Spend the funds within three months.
Where to spend the money?
The funds can be used exclusively at participating Ukrainian bookstores and publishing houses. You can purchase any books in the Ukrainian language, whether they are paper, electronic, or audio versions. [Full list of publishing houses]. From sci-fi to non-fiction – choose any genre you like!
Time limits?
You have three months from the date the funds are credited. Make sure to choose your favorite books in time; otherwise, the funds will be returned to the Ukrainian Book Institute.
The project is implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Book Institute, and the "Diia Support Project," which is implemented by the UNDP in Ukraine with funding from the Government of Sweden.
