This is an official professional holiday established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 251/94 dated May 25, 1994.
It was on this day in 1992 that the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine was admitted to the International Federation of Journalists.
Journalists are the voice of our time, a bridge between society and government, those who ask uncomfortable questions and strive for honest answers. It is thanks to their work that the world learns the truth about the events in Ukraine, and citizens receive verified and vital information.
Especially today, during the war, the work of journalists is incredibly crucial: they document crimes, highlight reality, work under shelling, through emotional burnout, and under constant informational pressure.
Journalist's Day is a wonderful occasion to thank those who ask uncomfortable questions and seek honest answers...
Dear Journalists!
We congratulate you on your professional holiday! May your work be highly respected, and may every article be heard. We wish you creative inspiration, engaging topics, worthy appreciation of your work, and reliable sources.
On the occasion of Journalist's Day, the staff of the Scientific Library of the State Tax University has prepared the following materials:
- Thematic exhibition «In the World of Journalism» (Room 372, Building C, instructional literature lending department);

- Video presentation on this topic.
A special gift for Journalist's Day is a video review of the new book by literary critic, writer, and journalist Tetiana Oharkova and philosopher, essayist, translator, and journalist Volodymyr Yermolenko «Life on the Edge: Ukraine, Culture, and War» («Zhyttia na mezhi: Ukraina, kultura ta viina»).

This is not only a journalistic testimony to the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war, but also a deep reflection on culture, memory, human resilience, and the value of freedom. We invite you to discover the publication that helps to better understand modern Ukraine and the people who shape its future.
The book «Life on the Edge: Ukraine, Culture, and War» by Tetiana Oharkova and Volodymyr Yermolenko was born out of the authors' numerous volunteer and journalistic trips to the frontline and de-occupied territories of Ukraine. The authors themselves define its genre as a philosophical reportage – a combination of living human stories, deep reflections, and an attempt to comprehend the experience of war.
On the pages of this edition, the reader encounters reflections on reality and memory, home and return, trust and care, culture and freedom. Through the personal stories of people whose lives have been changed by the war, the authors show not only the pain of loss but also the power of the human spirit, the capacity for recovery, and the birth of new meaning.
Dear Users!
Read books that help you understand your time!
We invite everyone to visit the thematic exhibition and explore the resources presented in the electronic materials prepared by the Scientific Library for Journalist's Day.
Happy Journalist's Day to everyone who seeks the truth, preserves memory, and tells the story of Ukraine to the world.
