Today, the State Tax University hosted the Open Chess Tournament “Rector’s Cup of STU,” bringing together more than 30 participants and transforming the university into a space of true intellectual competition.
We are especially proud of our student, Oleksandra Pozur (group FLB-24-1, majoring in Philology), who demonstrated outstanding skill and secured 2nd place, winning a cup and a silver medal!
At first glance, chess and languages may seem like different worlds, but they share much in common:
- strategic thinking
- attention to detail
- the ability to anticipate and interpret
- logic and creativity
Just as every move matters in chess, every word shapes meaning in language. Philologists, like chess players, think several steps ahead — analyzing, constructing, and predicting.
We are proud of our students who successfully combine academic excellence with intellectual challenges and achieve remarkable results!
