On August 26-29, 2025, Professor of the Department of Accounting and Auditing of the Faculty of Tax Affairs, Accounting and Auditing of the State Tax University, Doctor of Economics, Senior Research Fellow Volodymyr Metelytsia took part in the 18th Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE), which was held in the city of Bonn (Germany) and gathered more than 1,000 leading scholars from all over the world.
Within the specially organized session “Resilience & Ukrainian Agriculture” Volodymyr Metelytsia presented the research results “Attitudes toward ESG Reporting among Ukrainian Agricultural Enterprises”, which is based on interviews with Ukrainian agricultural enterprises under the conditions of war, economic instability, and growing requirements of European integration.
The session was organized in cooperation with international scholars and experts, among whom are:
- William H. Meyers (University of Missouri, USA);
- Mykola Moroz (Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine);
- Andrew Scanlon (Danube-Carpathian Programme, Alliance Brave Earth);
- Constantine Iliopoulos (Agricultural Economics Research Institute, Agricultural University of Athens, Greece);
- Mariya Yaroshko (German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue, APD);
- Bohdan Prots (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine);
- Valentyn Litvinov (Kyiv School of Economics, Ukraine; Wageningen University, Netherlands);
- Taras Gagalyuk (IAMO, Germany).
In addition, within the poster session “Policy Impact & Governance” the results of the research “Disclosure of Environmental Indicators for Green Reconstruction of Ukraine’s Agribusiness: A Discrete Choice Experiment” were presented, which highlight the readiness of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises to implement ESG reporting and the key incentives and barriers of this process in post-war reconstruction and European integration.
The presented results made a significant contribution to the international discussion on the future of Ukraine’s economic sustainable development, its integration into the European space, and the attraction of “green” investments.
